Our Terms and Conditions

Scope

These General Terms and Conditions, together with the order form and other referenced elements, are intended to regulate the terms and conditions governing the provision of the Quinta do Quetzal Online Store Service (Quinta do Quetzal Sociedade Agrícola Lda.), headquartered at Estrada das Sesmarias – Apartado 19, 7960-909 Vidigueira, registered under the unique corporate identification number 505 555 654, with a share capital of €11,251,955.20 (euros), hereinafter referred to as Quinta do Quetzal.

The purchase of any product from Quinta do Quetzal’s Online Store implies acceptance of these General Terms and Conditions of Online Sale.

All alcoholic beverages available for sale in Quinta do Quetzal’s Online Store may only be purchased by individuals who have the legal age to do so in their country of residence.

Product Information, Prices, and Content

Quinta do Quetzal reserves the right to modify, without prior notice and at any time, the information and commercial offer presented regarding products, prices, promotions, commercial conditions, and services.

The images illustrating each product on Quinta do Quetzal’s website may differ from the actual product delivered. Additionally, products are subject to stock availability.

Despite Quinta do Quetzal’s efforts, some products may display incorrect prices. The company verifies prices when processing orders. Consequently, the prices displayed on Quinta do Quetzal’s website are merely indicative and do not constitute a contractual offer.

If the actual price of a product is lower than the advertised price, Quinta do Quetzal will refund the difference. If the actual price is higher, Quinta do Quetzal will inform the customer via email and await their decision to either accept the new price or cancel the order within 15 days from the date the email was sent.

Under Portuguese law, all prices displayed on Quinta do Quetzal include the applicable VAT rates in force, unless otherwise stated.

Promotions advertised on Quinta do Quetzal’s website may not apply to the physical store:

Order and Payment

After confirming an order on Quinta do Quetzal’s website, an email will be sent to the contact address provided by the customer at the time of purchase, containing all details regarding delivery, invoicing, payment information, products, and prices. Quinta do Quetzal recommends that all customers verify these details. If the customer does not receive the order confirmation email, they should contact Quinta do Quetzal via the following channels (onlinestore@quintadoquetzal.com or +351 284 441 618) to request a resend of the confirmation.

If any details entered by the customer are incorrect and/or they wish to change any information, they should contact Quinta do Quetzal as soon as possible via onlinestore@quintadoquetzal.com or +351 284 441 618, provided the order has not yet been dispatched. If the order has already been shipped, the Quinta do Quetzal team will assess the situation and work with the customer to find the best possible solution.

All orders placed with Quinta do Quetzal will only be processed after full payment has been received. Placing an order alone does not constitute a reservation of the products.

If an order cannot be fulfilled in full or in part, the customer will be contacted immediately by Quinta do Quetzal to determine the best possible solution.

All orders placed with Quinta do Quetzal must be paid within a maximum of 48 hours. After this period, the order will be automatically canceled.

Orders may be canceled upon the customer’s express request via onlinestore@quintadoquetzal.com, provided they have not yet been shipped. If the order has already been dispatched, the customer should contact Quinta do Quetzal to discuss the most appropriate solution.

Quinta do Quetzal’s Online Store accepts payments via Multibanco Reference, MB WAY (both available for customers with a Portuguese bank account), PayPal, and PayShop.

The order statuses at Quinta do Quetzal are divided into three phases: Pending, Processing, and Completed.

Pending – Awaiting payment entry into Quinta do Quetzal's system.

Processing – Payment has been received, and the order is being processed and prepared for shipment.

On Hold – Awaiting additional confirmations from the customer before proceeding with the order. This is an exceptional stage.

Completed – The order has been shipped/dispatched.

Payments are received in euros, regardless of the currency used for the transaction. Any conversion fees for payments made in other currencies must be borne by the customer.

Our customer support department may, in some cases, request documents to proceed with order processing.

The invoice sent by email to customers upon order completion is automatically generated by the e-commerce platform on which the Quinta do Quetzal online store is hosted. This document is not valid for accounting purposes.

The legally valid invoice for accounting purposes regarding the online store transaction between the customer and Quinta do Quetzal will accompany the order in paper format.

Shipping Fees

The shipping fee is fixed at €8.50 (eight euros and fifty cents) for purchases made on the Quinta do Quetzal online store with a subtotal below €50.00 (fifty euros), including taxes, applicable only to mainland Portugal. For purchases with a subtotal above €50.00 (fifty euros), including taxes, shipping is free (the cost is covered by Quinta do Quetzal), also only for mainland Portugal.

Shipping fees may be subject to change without prior notice. We recommend regularly reviewing these Terms & Conditions.

Shipping and Delivery/Pickup at Quinta do Quetzal Physical Store

To have orders shipped to the desired address, customers must select the delivery address provided at registration or later added under "My Account." Alternatively, they can choose the "Create a New Address" option and correctly fill out the "New Address" form.

After dispatch, an order from Quinta do Quetzal is generally delivered within:

24 to 72 hours in mainland Portugal;

3 to 5 business days in Madeira and Azores (available soon).

Once orders are dispatched, tracking information will be available in the accounts of registered customers. Additionally, an email notification with the tracking link will be sent to all customers, whether registered or not.

If a customer does not receive a shipping confirmation, they should contact Quinta do Quetzal at onlinestore@quintadoquetzal.com or +351 284 441 618 to request all available shipping details.

After receiving the shipping notification, customers should track their orders via the provided link to monitor the status until delivery, as Quinta do Quetzal does not notify customers of every shipping status update.

All products shipped by Quinta do Quetzal must be checked upon delivery.

If the order appears damaged, the customer should immediately return it to the courier, properly justify the return on the shipping carrier's delivery note, and promptly notify Quinta do Quetzal via onlinestore@quintadoquetzal.com or +351 284 441 618.

If, after delivery, the customer finds any item to be non-compliant, they should immediately contact Quinta do Quetzal at onlinestore@quintadoquetzal.com, providing the order number or the accompanying document number, along with images of the packaging as received and all items, to initiate an internal investigation and promptly resolve the issue.

Quinta do Quetzal sells its products online exclusively within Portugal. If an order is placed with a delivery address outside Portugal, it will be automatically canceled, and the customer will be informed immediately.

Quinta do Quetzal contracts a specialized courier service for deliveries within Portugal.

Every effort is made to meet dispatch and delivery timelines; however, delays beyond Quinta do Quetzal's control may occur, making it impossible to guarantee exact delivery dates.

Most deliveries are made during business hours on weekdays at the delivery address provided during checkout.

If a delivery attempt is unsuccessful due to absence, the courier will leave a notice in the customer's mailbox with instructions from the courier service.

Depending on the courier and service, orders may need to be collected at the specified location in the notice or follow the provided instructions.

If a customer cannot receive the order or pick it up at the designated location, they should contact Quinta do Quetzal to find the best solution.

Before submitting an order, if the customer wishes to pick it up at our physical store, they should select the "Pickup in Store" shipping option. The order will be available for collection at Quinta do Quetzal's store, located at Estrada das Sesmarias, Apartado 19 – 7960-909 Vidigueira.

Only the person named on the order confirmation may collect the order unless Quinta do Quetzal is notified in advance that another person (providing their name) will pick up the order.

Orders for in-store pickup may take up to one business day to be processed. Customers will be notified via email once their order is ready for collection.

Customers should bring their order confirmation/number when visiting Quinta do Quetzal to ensure the order is ready for pickup and avoid unnecessary trips.

Wednesday, Thursday, and Sunday: 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM

Friday and Saturday: 10:00 AM – 10:00 PM

Monday and Tuesday: Closed

Applicable Law (Returns)


Quinta do Quetzal recognizes all customers' right to contract cancellation, allowing them to return purchased products within 14 (fourteen) days, in accordance with Decree-Law No. 143/2001 and Decree-Law No. 82/2008 of May 20.

For exchanges or returns, customers should contact Quinta do Quetzal via onlinestore@quintadoquetzal.com, providing the order number or accompanying document, considering the following conditions:

To return an order, the product must be in perfect condition, with its original packaging, accessories, or promotional offers included, if applicable, and accompanied by proof of purchase or invoice.

Returns of defective or incorrect items will be accepted, with Quinta do Quetzal covering shipping and collection costs, provided the issue is reported within 14 (fourteen) days from the product's delivery date.

Once the returned item is received at our facilities and its condition validated, a refund will be processed according to the payment method used or another previously agreed-upon solution.

Quinta do Quetzal assumes responsibility for product defects or faulty materials. If confirmed by Quinta do Quetzal's specialized team, the product will be replaced or refunded at no additional cost to the customer.

Product Returns and Liability

Quinta do Quetzal will not accept returns of products once used, or if they have been altered or modified.

Quinta do Quetzal is not responsible for deficiencies arising from incorrect use, negligence, improper storage conditions, or force majeure.

Applicable Law (RAL)


All purchases made on the Quinta do Quetzal website are subject to Portuguese law. Any conflict or disagreement regarding the interpretation of the General Online Sales Conditions will be submitted to the competent Portuguese Court.

If the Customer is located outside mainland Portugal, Quinta do Quetzal hereby informs that any legal proceedings must be exclusively initiated in Portuguese Courts.

Under the provisions of article 18 of Law No. 144/2015 of September 8, it is hereby stated that the available RAL entity is the Lisbon Consumer Conflict Arbitration Centre, with the following contact details:
